The quoted prices do not include transportation. Each itinerary will have a designated meeting point either at the trailhead or nearby. If transportation is required, contact us for pricing and arrangements.

You should wear comfortable clothes appropriate for the season and sturdy, close-toed shoes (hiking boots, trail or road running shoes, etc.). Florida weather can be unpredictable so you may want to pack a light rain jacket or outer layer. Sun screen and insect spray is recommended and of course, a water bottle.

There is a minimum of 2 participants for any of the itineraries. Because each trip is led personally by Fred the Guide, there is a maximum of 6 participants. If you have a larger group, contact us and we can customize an itinerary for your group and add the appropriate number of additional guides.

No. We’ve led hikes with participants as young as 5 and as old as 84. Having said that, all minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless previous arrangements have been negotiated with Fred the Guide. All children under 12 are half price when accompanied by a paying adult. Children carried in a child carry backpack are free.

We provide water and snacks. In addition, all required day use fees are included. We also carry a water filter, first aid kit and …… ahem, a kit for when “nature calls” while out in nature. We can provide a picnic lunch on any hike for an additional fee. Contact us to arrange lunch. Please let us know about any dietary restrictions.

Our specialty is introducing new hikers to this great activity! The hike durations listed are meant to be a guide for planning purposes. If you can walk, you can hike. We set a pace based on your abilities and we take as many rest breaks as needed. Our goal is to teach you the basics of hiking and get you comfortable in the outdoors.

At this time we don’t have any set itineraries for those activities, however, Central Florida is home to some of the best kayaking anywhere and campgrounds are plentiful and appropriate for car camping or backpacking. We will customize a trip just for you based on your schedule, budget and imagination. Contact us directly and we can build an itinerary just for you or your group.

We always offer discounts for cash payment. In addition, there is a 10% discount for all First Responders (retired and active), Active Military, Veterans, Students and Front Line Health Care Workers.

If you are local or visiting the area for an extended time, you can take advantage of “Buy 2, Hike 1 Free”. If you book 2 hikes within 10 days, you can get 1 hike of equal or lesser value free.* (*day use fee may be excluded).  Contact us to book these specials or utilize our discount programs.
